EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

Full-Time, Unlimited

Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

(includes two 15-minute paid rest breaks; one 30-minute unpaid lunch break)

           Eligible for Full Benefits

SALARY RANGE:  $24.41 to $34.41 Per Hour


DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

As a key member of a small but highly dedicated HR team, this position plays a critical role in delivering consistent, high‑quality human resource services across the campus. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail‑oriented, and committed to supporting both colleagues and the broader college community. This role requires strong technical competence, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex HR processes with accuracy and confidentiality. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing a wide range of human resources functions that support the full employee lifecycle. This role manages complex HRIS and payroll processes; oversees benefits and retirement program administration; facilitates faculty credentialing and onboarding; and ensures accurate, timely completion of HR transactions across multiple state systems. In addition, the position provides guidance on collective bargaining agreement interpretation, maintains confidential labor relations information, prepares HR reports and audits, and identifies opportunities to improve HR procedures and data integrity. The work requires strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to independently manage detailed, high‑volume responsibilities while upholding compliance and service standards.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (expected to have to enter job):

Two years of Human Resources experience or equivalent combination of experience and education:

Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field can substitute for six months of experience;

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field can substitute for one year of experience;

Master’s degree in a related field can substitute for 18 months of experience.

Ability to manage and complete HR business processes within an HRIS/payroll system.

Knowledge of employee benefits, insurance, and public pension plans.

Knowledge and skill of word processing sufficient to use software to create, format, edit and print a variety of documents, including emails, memos and reports. Ability to check completed work for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and format.

Knowledge of communications sufficient to answer telephones, communicate effectively with internal and external customers, explain the reasons for transactions and procedures, rules, and regulations in a manner that is understandable.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Human resources experience working in the Minnesota State system.

Experience with federal and state employment laws.

Experience with handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
