EMPLOYMENT CONDITION: Full-Time, Unlimited
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Includes one 30-minute unpaid meal break and two 15-minute paid rest breaks
Eligible for Full Benefit Package and Insurance Benefits
SALARY RANGE: $26.37 to $30.35 per hour / $55,061 to $63,371 annually (2024-2025 salary guidelines)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Are you someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in keeping spaces running smoothly and looking great? We are looking for a skilled and dependable team member to help maintain and repair our buildings, equipment, and grounds. In this role, you will tackle a variety of tasks – from plumbing and carpentry to mechanical repairs – ensuing our facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming.
You will also play a key role in snow removal, event setups, moving furniture, and assisting with hauling supplies. Every day brings something new, and your contributions will directly support a positive experience for our students, staff, and visitors.
This position reports to the Physical Plant Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of general methods and practices of a variety of trade areas (e.g., mechanics, masonry, welding, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry) sufficient to assist licensed trades workers and to repair machinery, tools, and facilities in a timely and safe manner.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.
Ability to safely use hand and power hand tools.
Ability to safely operate and maintain trucks, tractors, and other ground and road maintenance equipment.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to provide work instructions to unskilled helpers.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and bending.
State of MN Class D Driver’s License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Special Boilers License or higher.
Knowledge of HVAC systems and controls.
Knowledge of electrical systems.
Knowledge of fire alarm systems.
Good Computer Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
Ability to lead in a team setting.
Ability to erect and work on high scaffolds and ladders.
Knowledge of door lock hardware and keying.
Knowledge of Right-to-Know laws & OSHA regulations.
Ability to layout and design small construction projects and configure material lists for those projects.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions, i.e., lifting, standing, carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs., pulling, pushing, and working in extreme weather conditions when necessary.
Ability to work above the ground level, such as on ladders and scaffolding.
